It had to educational, fun, safe and worth the money. The Baby Einstein Caterpillar Entertainer is all that. At first we were looking at the ExerSaucer - Ultra and ExerSaucer - Delux, but after much research found that the toys had server major problems including being too high for babies legs, shape toys that could hurt baby, sound toys that could barely be heard and with no replaceable batteries and too many toys/ toys that over stimulated baby. With the Caterpillar, it seems like the developers looked at every problem the Exersaucer had and made sure it wasn't the case with their product. The toys are all baby friendly, the electronic portion comes with an off, hi and low sound option and the batteries are replaceable, there is a puppet connected so older siblings or adults can play along with baby and there isn't so many toys that the baby gets over stimulated or... I originally purchased the Leap Frog Learning Station which my son absolutely loves, but he is a big boy. At 30 inches and only 7 1/2 months, he has far outgrown the Leap Frog, so we needed something just as fun and educational that would work with his height. Fortunately, this entertainer grows with your child up to 32 inches which still gives him time to play and learn. All of the other enteratiners have a max height of 30 inches =( I highly recommend this product especially if you have an above average child as we do! The plastic coating came off and she choked on it. It was very scary and she could not breath for some time. If you look up this recall it is only listed as "Soft Tower Blocks" but it is part of this toy. If you already have it, remove the block tower and call Graco for a new one. Throw it away. I searched the web for weeks for an entertainer and came across this one. It was the only one out there that offered all the features I was looking for. Unfortunately no one had written a review on it so I was a little nervous to spend the $149.99. Especially since it was nothing like the evenflo smart steps I previously owned with my (thought was last!) baby. Well my 5 month old LOVES THIS!!! The 3 music stations do interact together while attached to the unit (not sure how really). And the bar across the top has music as well when you pull on the plush instrument toys. Also allows me to attach other toys to it as well. She loves all the teethers and bright colors. I thought by the photo that the bottom floor base was like an exercise ball, but its not. It includes two chew toys attached with ribbons, a snail-shaped bead rattle attachment, a bendy flower, a mirror, a bee on a pull string, a bead chaser type attachment (with plastic animals instead of beads), and most important an interactive family tree. One side of the family tree has three crinkly peek-a-boo leaves with frames for family pictures underneath. Our LO *loves* to pull the leaves. And besides the crinkly effect you can also flip a switch to make it say encouraging things when she pulls them, it even uses the appropriate voice (the mom leaf speaks in a mothering voice, the dad leaf in a male voice). Our little guy really enjoys the toys attached (flower mirror, rattle snail, buzzing bee, etc.). Only problems I see with this model are one time I was taking him out of it and he bent his knees up while pulling him out and scratched the tops of his knees on the under side of the rotating seat. The under side of the seat is not covered by padding or fabric, so just keep in mind when getting your kid out. Also the on/off switch for the brake doesn't really work that great. You really have to push down on the switch to get it to lock in. I love it because it is so much safer to have the baby walk around in one area than walk around the whole house. I can lock the wheels and she can still walk in place since the seat turns around in a complete circle. It has wonderful toys, lights and music on the other side of the tree in the shape of fruits and each is a different color. It teaches colors, fruits and even short sentences. The other side of the tree has 3 flip open leafs and each reveals a plastic photo frame where you can put pictures. A picture for Daddy, Mommy, and Baby. When the baby tugs on the leaf each sais "Mommy", "Daddy", "Baby". The bee buzzes in and out of the hive, and the other toys rattle and spin, It also has two teether toys that are not really visible in this picture.
